The dried mature seed of the perennial herbaceous plant Coixlacrymajobi L. var. mayuan (Roman.) Stapf of the Gramineae family.

 

Location: Most of China.

 

Harvest: Collected in the fall when the fruits are ripe.

 

The real smell and taste: Light smell and slightly sweet.

 

Best quality: Big, firm, white and full.

 

Processing: Raw or stir-fried.
